Runescape Range skill will be split into Precision and Dexterity

Range skill will be split into Precision and Dexterity. Precision will be the "attack" of range. Leveling this skill increases your likeliness to hit, and allows you to equip new weapons, and unlock new abilities (explained later). Dexterity will be the "strength" of range. Leveling this skill will increase your rs 2007 gold output, allow you to equip new armors (explained later), and unlock new abilities (explained later). Magic skill will be split into Sorcery and Channeling (idk I'm not good at names).

Sorcery will be the "attack" of magic. Levelling Sorcery will unlock new spells, increase your likeliness to hit, and allows you to wield new weapons. Channeling will be the "strength" of magic. Leveling channeling will increase your damage output, allow you to equip new armors, and unlocks new abilities. To be consistent, wearing melee armor now requires the appropriate strength level.

So how do we implement a combat skill split fairly? We can't just drop it on players and have them be level 1, and we can't split the xp in skills because that would drop levels, so I've come up with a fair way to introduce the new skills. For Range, upon logging in after the update hits, all of your range xp will now be your dexterity xp. Your Precision xp will be 15% of your dexterity XP, however this has a cap of level 85. This way players will still have to train the new skill to level up, but they aren't completely screwed if they choose not to train it right away.
